Tampon---HELP!??

Question:
I want to start using tampons, but I don't know how to put it in and I always read the directions on the package but they are always to confusing. I'm also afraid that I'll put it in wrong or get TSS or not be able to get it out. So how do you put one in and how likely is it that it will get stuck??

Answers:
It's easy to put in:

1.) Buy the smallest tampon possible as this is your first time
2.) They recommend standing with one foot on the toilet while doing it
3.) Hold the tampon between your thumb and pointer finger (there's usually little grips or something to put your fingers on)
4.) Slide the tampon applicators in until your fingers touch your labia
5.) Push the applicators together until they can't move anymore
6.) Pull the applicators out - the 2 applicators will still be pushed together, the tampon will be left inside you with a string hanging down.
7.) It may take you a few tries to get it in properly, but once you've done it you won't be able to feel the tampon at all - don't get frustrated

Getting Stuck:
1.) It won't get stuck. No matter what you'll be able to get the tampon out, sometimes it'll be easier then others depending on how saturated the tampon is, but it will NOT get stuck.

TSS:
Just remember to use the smallest possible tampon for your personal flow, and change them every 4-6 hours. If you forget take it out as soon as you remember/can. If you start feeling ill remove the tampon and see how you feel. I've been using tampons for 5 years now and have not had a problem yet.

Hope this helps. :-)
Tampax has a great site that you can learn more than you ever wanted to know about menstration and using tampons.

Here is the link directly to their "how to use" page.

It will not get stuck. Even if you can't find the string, it will be in easy reach of your fingers. Sometimes when you pull on the string the tampon will feel like it's resisting-- this is a good thing. It means the tampon is not used yet and you can keep it in for a while longer. You wouldn't want it falling out while you're walking down the street, would you?

Just follow the picture directions on the box-- they're easiest.
Gently slide the tampon in tilted sort of to the back. It shouldn't hurt. You can't put it in wrong as long as you have it inserted in far enough that only the string is out where you can grab it. It will not get stuck and you won't get TSS as long as you are regular about changing them and with cleanliness. Good look honey, it gets easier as time goes on.
I don't think tampons can get stuck, since there is a string attached to the end of it,and you can just pull it out. One way to put in a tampon is sit on the toilet seat, spread your legs a little, and just insert the tampon in pointing it up a little. I find it hard to explain. Ask your mom to help you. Theres a book called Your body and You. something like that by american girl.
you will be able to get it out and it will not get stuck it has a secure string that u pull to get it out so dont worry oh ya go on you tube and type in how to put in a tampon
ok well the key is to relax and just put it in. and dont worry you will not get it stuck its impossible. and the only reason that you will get tss is that if you have it in for a long period of time like 12 hours or something change it like every 4 to 8 hours.
Try to follow the directions that come with them as best as you can. If the directions are hard or confusing, try searching online for step by step instructions, such as this site...http://www.ehow.com/how_1185_insert-tamp...
As long as you follow the directions (leave the string hanging out) and change the tampon in the time as indicated on the box, you should be fine.

I usually change mine on an average of 4 - 5 times a day, depending on how heavy it is...u should change every 4 - 8 hours.

TSS is very rare...to learn more about it, you can search for it online or go here...

Don't worry... a tampon will never get stuck inside of you...

It's always a little difficult putting one in the first time, but with a little practice, it's a peice of cake!

Point it twoard your lower back... RELAX! it;s very important to relax when you're putting it in... then slide it in... go for the point of least resistance...

Once you have the aplicator in, just pull the top half down onto the bottom half... and it's in!

Tampons are great once you start using them... I was a little freaked out when I tried them for the first time, but now I love them! I'm sure you will too!
It's not hard to put one in just follow the directions its simple...n ive worn em for 2 years and ive never had one get stuck.
