Painful cramps.?

Question:
Does anyone else out there get really painful cramps the first day of their period? I always do and I find that it interferes a lot with my schedule, even if I've taken a midol I still feel sick and end up sleeping for hour. I find if I'm in class some days are so bad I can't just sit there, so I leave. Who else has problems with this?

Answers:
I have painful period cramps that has interfered with my life basically on a weekly if not daily basis over the last 6 months. I have missed more days at work than I have really been allowed to, but luckily I have an understanding boss.

If it is that painful for you and it interferes with your day to day things, you should definitely go see a gyneacologist. You might have endometriosis which is something a lot of women have and painful periods are a very common symptom of it.

Get your Mom to take you to the gyneacologist for a check up just to make sure - better to find out sooner and get it seen to than wait and suffer not knowing.

Good luck!
Maybe you could try taking Advil around the clock the day before your period starts. You could also try one of those small, adhesive heating pads on your abdomen. My last suggestion would be to try oral contraceptives; that works for some people. I had really bad cramps when I was younger but as I get older they are much less.
Yeah =( Im going through it right now actually!

Sucks how you gotta put your life on hold just for this every month >.<
it is normal ,i have cramps too at my first day of period but it get easier with time, u can make some natural activities to reduce pain like drinking hot beverage like warm milk with cinnamon, cinnamon is known for its active principal that reduce smooth muscle contraction. besides u can rest and reduce physical effort in such day, take warm shower in the morning, if that's doesn't work change the type of ur pain killer, cause may be ur body get used to that one.
