What is wrong with my nipple?

Question:

For the past 4 days I have had a red, swollen nipple. The top of the nipple is really swollen, and the area around it is bright red. It is terribly sore, and isn't getting any better. There also appears to be a tender lump underneath where it is swollen. I have never had a nipple piercing, and I am not pregnant, and I haven't done anything at all to irritate it. If anyone has any ideas as to what could be wrong please let me know.

Red, swollen and sore sounds like an infection. You probably have a small abscess and you need it treated ASAP. Make an appointment to see your doctor.

I would go to the dorctor right away to get it checked out. It could also be because of you period if you're due for your period soon.

You may have irritated it with a bra which means you might not have noticed it getting sore, you could have a cyst, it could be an infection, there are so many things that it could be.

I would make an appointment to see your doctor as soon as possible, in cases like this you need someone who is qualified to tell you what it is.

It could be anything from an infected hair, spider bite, or something more serious. You should def. go to a doctor and have them check it out. You dont want to leave the area untreated and it be something serious.

Go see a doctor. Any changes in shape or colour and especially if there are any lumps present you need to get it checked ASAP
