Lice problem?

Question:

ok well last year my daughter went to a pool party and got lice. a couple other kids were said to have gotten it from there and it went through the school mildly. the pool was said to have lice, well my daughter went to the same pool for another pool party this year, and her head is starting to itch again. could this still have happened? the girl whos pool she want to is there neighborhood pool, and as far as i know none of them have/had lice. what should i do, and whats the possibility of this happening?

As long as you go to a public or highly used pool, the chances are pretty good that she will get it again. My mom used to keep the lice treatment kits on hand for this very reason.

She always did a head check when she saw me itching, my hair was nearly butt length so she would be able to tell quickly, if I had another infestation.

maybe you didn't get rid of it completely the first time or she could have gotten from another child at school or anywhere

I am a professional nitpicker in NY.
Here is what I would recommend:
Buy a finetooth metal comb (licender, licemeister, terminator).
Smother hair with a thick conditioner (pantene).
And get someone to comb thru hair taking thin sections of hair at a time
Wipe the comb against a paper towel after you are done with each section
You will clearly see the nits (oval shaped, grayish and size of a sesame seed) against the paper towel if you have them
Lice will be more visible
In case you have them, continue with the comb out... A thorough comb out takes 2 hours. You may have to get combed out 2-4 times in a week depending on the level of infestation
There is no need for any other treatment
