Answers:
What you are describing is classic PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder). I urge you to speak to your doctor about this, either PCP or GYN, and if they do not listen to you, see another doctor.

PMDD is a very severe and debilitating form of PMS. It's not just "bad PMS". Don't let others tell you that it's totally normal, b/c PMDD is NOT by all means "normal", while simple PMS is.

I was dx'd with severe PMDD 4 years ago, after suffering a very severe case of PPD after my almost 5 year old daughter was born. I was on so many different antidepressants for the PPD, but when the PMDD came along, NOTHING helped it. It was a really desperate time for me. I was suicidal every month.

Back in October I began taking Yaz birth control, which has literally saved my life. I no longer take the other meds, except for an occasional Ativan for anxiety.

Here is an article about my personal experience... I warn you, it's quite intense.

You can track your symptoms over on the Yaz website. If you find that your symptoms are possible PMDD ones, talk to your gyn or PCP about it.

You shouldn't suffer anymore.
Take Magnesium and Calcium also increase dairy foods in your diet which containn calcium and the fat that your body needs to make seratonin and other hormones that your body needs , If you dont sek out these fats your body craves them and you feed yourself carbs all day to recompense thus puttting on Weight a good english breakfast is the thing
Sounds like PMDD and perhaps peri-menopause is playing a part in the mood swings if this is a new symptom. I have pasted a link below for a site that will allow you to 'track' several factors with you cycle/moods and print a report for your doc. It's not much fun to do it, but it sure helps them understand what you are going through. Good luck! HTH
The following drugs, medications, substances or toxins are some of the possible causes of Mood swings as a symptom. I would recommend getting a second opinion and preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor that you see.
i suggest you seeing another doctor. do some fun stuff. relaaaaaaaaaaaaaax. then you forget about it
hi when i was younger and still living at home my mum used to give me vitamin B6 as she said i was awful to live with during my period that could be worth a go hope it works =)
try premysyn...i tried it because it was cheaper than midol and i cant believe i suffered needlessly all of this time. it made me feel like a new person. cramps, mood swings and bloating were all relieved
My doc told me to try Vitamin B6 and it really helped, the whole family commented on how much better I was.
Good luck
