Had my period for 8 weeks.?
Question:
For the first 7 weeks it was light to moderate, with a few heavy days.
The period stopped for 4-5 days, and then came back VERY heavy with cramping. The heavy period lasted for 6 days, and is now gone again.
It has been 3 days since the bleeding stopped.
My period has always been regular, I am not taking any medicine or birth control.
I don't like my doctor, and there are no female doctor's in the area. I'm a virgin and afraid of having a vaginal exam. I have a doctor's appointment scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, but now that the bleeding has stopped, do I still need to go?
Answers:
Absolutely still go to the doctor. It is better to be safe than sorry. It isn't normal to have your period for that long. Everything should be fine, but you don't want to ignore something like that. Do not be afraid of the exam. I know it makes you nervous having someone look at you down there like that. But it isn't painful, just uncomfortable. It only takes like 6 seconds for an actual papsmear. Just relax. I hope all is well. : )
yes. you still do need to go! if you have a period for two months that is completely NOT normal! its not normal to have it for two or three weeks! (let alone 8!) you still need to go. you could have a serious problem. you said the bleeding stopped for 4/5 days and started again so in a day or two it could go ahead and continue. you need to be checked...don't be afraid of the vaginal exam it is all for your own good. good luck though.
Hunny go to the doctor. It could be serious.
Ok sweety, i know that the doctor may not be your cup of tea... however you need ONE NOW! this is considered to be abnormal and you need to get off of the computer NOW and go to the doctor. you are loosing blood for an obscene long amount of time. GO NOW! set aside your fears of doctors and put your health infront now.
Yes, you should still go to the doctor's tomorrow. Everything is probably just fine, & this was just an anomaly.
I know 2 other ppl who've had their periods for 8 weeks before too. Fortunately, it only happened once in their lives.
Yes. It's not normal to bleed for 8 weeks. It can't all be your period. You need to get it checked out. Why don't your mother look for a female Gynecologist rather a family doctor? They usually know all about what goes on with the insides of abdomen. Try one, and if you are a virgin, explain that to her.
