I need some help, I have depression and a yeast infection.?

Question:
I recently came down with a pretty bad yeast infection. I went to planned parenthood and they gave me the 3 day cream treatment which seemed to work but now i think it has come back. It just sucks because I'm so depressed and all I can do lately is cry. If anybody has any suggestions on fighting yeast infections and depression, please let me know. I really can't take much more of this.

Answers:
Yougurt. This will help a lot. There are cultures in yougurt called acidophilus. It is what is called a probiotic bacteria. It will help the infection by killing off the icky stuff that is giving you the discharge and the fishy smell. Make sure you eat yogurt for about a week and wear panties with a cotton crotch. Your vagina needs to be able to breathe while it is healing itself. As tempting as it may be to scratch, do not scratch yourself. That will make it worse.

Also, if you can, go to your nearest pharmacy and get the 1-week cream. It's a little gooey, but this will ensure you kill the infection.

If you are prone to chronic yeast infections, it could be a sign you are diabetic. Go to your doctor and get that checked out. It could also be some other STD.

I hope this all helps. Check out the sites I have provided and maybe this will shed some light on the issue. No need to be depressed. Yeast infections are just one of those womenly things that happen to many of us at one time or another.
I wonder why they didn't give you the prescription pill Diflucan. Take just one and you're better in days. I would also recommend the one-dose yeast treatments you can get at any store. About the depression, is this all of a sudden, or have you been dealing with it for a while? Perhaps you're about to start your period, or maybe some other things are going on that's bringing you down. I advise you talk to someone (a doctor or counselor) so that you can get to feeling better emotionally.
first let me tell you yeast infections are natural is this your first one. They are most common in pregnancy so are you pregnant? Depressions comes along with that.

As women we find ourselves very self conscious about our bodies so having a yeast infection kinda makes us feel nasty or unattractive even if others cannot see it.

My suggestion is that you apply the medicine and watch a movie of your choice. Try to relax and lay down. It will pass sweetie it will. A comedy is awesome or a mystery something that can really grab your attention. Long showers are great too.

BTW how long have you had this issue? If the depression has been more then a week please tell your doctor.

The yeast infection usually comes when a foreign object is in you vaginal walls. This includes dirt. If your man touches you down there make sure his stuff or hands are clean. Same goes for anything else. As well as tampons.
They are probably one and the same. Depression is one of most commonly missed symptoms of Candida. If the infection is so bad it's coming out your orifices, then you have a bigger problem than discharge. You are completely infected, and have to purge your whole body. Here's a quick quiz to help you decide.

""Candida is a yeast that lives in the human digestive system. It has the ability to change from a yeast and become a fungus. As a fungus it operates in a similar fashion to any other fungus such as athletes' foot fungus, etc. Candida is kept at low levels by the friendly bacteria that also reside in the digestive tract. The friendly bacteria feed on the Candida, thus a balance in the body is maintained. Modern medicine's "gift" of antibiotics, birth control pills, cortisone and chemotherapy kill this friendly bacteria as do street drugs, alcohol, and junk food diets. Once this friendly bacteria has been destroyed, the yeast begins to overgrow and take over the digestive system. Left untreated, it becomes a fungus and grows into a plant-like structure complete with roots. These roots can break through the intestinal walls, allowing the yeast to travel to other areas of the body such as the sinuses, throat, reproductive organs, the lungs and skin just to name a few. It is capable of producing over 100 symptoms. " http://www.becomehealthynow.com/article/...

You are not crazy. It is biochemical and will NOT go away, unless you make it, even if you lie down and think happy thoughts. Treat the whole problem, and you will feel like your whole world is different in days.
the 2 issues are separate but could be aggravated by each other, first the yeast simple home remedy and 2 cups white 5% acidic vinegar to bath water soak and swish infected area as best you can or douche using 3 tablespoons of the vinegar mixed with 1 quart water, after this get plain yogurt with live active lactobacillus culters, coat tampon generously and insert in vagina about an hour, the vinegar will restore the vagina's proper ph levels and the yogurt will strengthen the natural bacteria to protect the vagina, don't use the fruity stuff to much sugar also eat some everyday, eliminate from your diet sugars and bread or yeast products as much as possible including soda, if diabetes runs in family get checked as elevated sugar levels can make yeast persistent, if you are having thoughts of self harm get help now go to ER, if your just kinda down try St. John's Wort most drug stores will carry this in the supplement isle, also take 30 minute walk at least 4 times a week in a park or some other favorite place make yourself do this you'll be surprised at how much this will help don't make excuses just do it and see for yourself how after a few days your mood will elevate if I can be of any further help feel free to email, best wishes for you!
