Tampon hurts?
Question:
this is my second period using a tampon.
so its not that confusing.
but this time its really stinging and uncoftrable.
did i not put it far enough in?
or just give it a little time and the pain will go away.
its not really stinging anymore [its been about 5minutes]
this is my 3rd period.
Answers:
If it feels poky or uncomfortable it's not in far enough. Just toss it out and try a new one. Eventually you'll get it down!
y dont u stick to a pad for a while then work urself up to a tampon
You probably don't have it in far enough. Try another one deeper in and see how that feels.
I wont recommend your age to use tampons, and its to early to get right in tampons because u just got ur periods.
Honey,
It's probably not in far enough, you need it to rest past the muscle (feels like a lump) - if it's pushing on that muscle, it will not be comfortable.
Also - make sure your mom is buying small enough tampons for you. My girls are 16 and 14 and they prefer slender regulars or OB regulars. Don't use tampons that are bigger than what you need in 3-4 hours. Change them regularly because Toxic Shock Syndrome is possible. One of my friends had it and she was being careful about good hygiene.
Hope that helps!

it feels strange at first. but you get use to it.
Use a little KY. My guess is that you are having a lighter flow and the tampon is irritating the sides of your vagina. Do not use those heavy flow/extra strength tampons. Those are intended for women who have had children; their vaginas are a bit larger and they tend to have heavier flow. Those heavy flow tampons hurt!
if it hurts you should remove it. Either try again with a fresh tampon or just use a pad for now. I'm not sure why it would hurt. If you don't have it in far enough it is just usually uncomfortable. Is it possible you scratched yourself while inserting it?
