I am a nursing student and know many medical laws, and it is a violation for your doctor to tell anyone your information without your consent. The exception is abuse, which they are required to report. It doesn't matter how old you are. But do make sure to tell your doctor that "this is just between you and me", because she probably thinks that it is okay to tell your parents medical info about you unless you ask not to. But masturbation should be of no concern to anyone! Your gyno shouldn't need to even know if you masturbate. That is not a health concern. If she says are you sexually active, and all you do is masturbate, the answer is no. She means with another real sexual organ, not your hand :).

Legally, your gynecologist cannot discuss any of your medical information with your parents if you have asked them not to. That would include whether or not you masturbate. Also, I really don't know of any reason why they would find it necessary to tell your parents anyway and I don't know how they would be able to tell in the first place. Just make sure that when you go to see your gynecologist you tell her/him that you want your medical information kept confidential from your parents.

YES Dont listen to these unknowleded people a gyno can absolutely tell in u have been masturbating by measuring the circumference of your vagina and comparing the results with ur last visits measurments. There is no reason to, unless you have hurt yourself. If you ask them not to, they probably can't because of doctor-patient confidentiality (depending on your age and where you live). Also, the doctor most likely can't tell just by looking at you that you masturbate, and hopefully your parents understand it's natural and normal.

For one thing, unless you have been using a dildo or some other kind of a toy, inside your vagina, it would be really difficult to kown if you have ever masturbated.
Secondly, even if it was obvious, why would she? There's no reason to tell your parents, there is nothing wrong with it, it is considered normal behavior.
And finally, and most important, there are federal privacy laws that prevent the doctor from telling your parents anything about the exam. If you ask your doctor not to tell, then she can't!
