Please help, I've asked my mom but she isn't sure..?

Question:
I've got this small lump in my underarm that I noticed while shaving today.. it's small, sore to the touch, and hurts with very little pressure, like my shirt brushing against it will cause pain.

It's not a cut, or anything, doesn't look red and I can't find it by just looking at the skin. Does anyone know what this could be? It doesn't resemble an ingrown hair, but I could be wrong.. and they don't feel like this.

More specifically a sore lump under the skin that you can feel it if you run your finger over it, and it doesn't look like an ingrown hair, like I've said, at least, not the ingrown hairs I've seen before.. it has no signs beside the pain and small, peaish shaped lump.

Please help me if you can, I'm awfully worried.

Oh and if age is a factor, I'm 16 and relitivly healthy. Slim, and not obese if those would do anything either, no recent weight gains at all.

Thank you for your help. :]

It's most probably just an infected hair follicle - which is usually caused by shaving, often in the wrong direction. I've had one before and it was quite uncomfortable, but the only thing you can really do is wait for it to disappear by itself - just keep it clean and don't try and squeeze it or anything, because that will only make it hurt more. To be on the safe side though you should always get these things checked out by your doctor. :-)
Probably from just shaving or a change in deodorant? i would be too worried.
It could be an infected follicle - it happens but I'm not a doctor, if you are worried seek medical advice.
when i was 18 i had a lump right in the crease under my arm. and it hurt real bad. the doctor said it was a cyst, possibly from an ingrown hair. i was told to put hot(moist) compresses on it to bring it to a head. eventually it came to a head and broke open, similar to a real big zit. kinda gross, very painful, but harmless. however, only your doctor can answer you with any certainty. it's always best to be safe and get it checked out. good luck.
oh, and the doctor also advised me not to put on deodorant for a couple hours after shaving to give the pores a chance to close up. sometimes it can get in the pores and cause a cyst.
Could be a lymph node. Get it checked out.
It could be a swollen lymph node. Drink lots of water, to try and flush your body, and if it doesn't go away, ask your doctor what you should do about it.
Sounds like a developing boil. Use warm wet compresses on it to see if that brings it "to a head". DON'T let this infection get away from you.See your doc soon if it doesn't get better. Had a neighboor kid wait till her's was the size of an egg. She didn't have a very good time being treated for that(very painful).

Considering your age and where the lump is, it's more likely to be a cyst than anything scary. This is quite common when you start shaving under your arms - even if you can't see any visible cuts.
Try soaking a cloth with hot water and holding it against the cyst, this may help draw out the infection. Try not to squeeze it unless it has a head.
If it gets bigger or more painful you may need to go to the doctor to get it treated.
probly from deoderant, shaving cream, or a razor bump but it might b an allergic reaction. u should get it checked out.
Finding any sort of lump under the arm pit can be serious.
Go to doctors right away. Asap
Never assume with any lump under the armpit.
Doctor may have exrays done ,dont delay no matter what age
you are?? I would be worried also.
ok.put tea tree oil on it...(but not pure stuff)
or other wise i would see ya doctor because he or she might have to cut it out.
Most likely there is nothing to worry but if the pain persists i.e. it does not reduce with time, please see the doc.
