Do I have a UTI or something else?

Question:
Last week I have had symptoms of a uti, foul smelling urine pain while urinating, have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom as well as visual blood in my urine.

My question is i made an appointment with my doctor and now my symptoms have gone away. Should I still keep the appointment even when my UTI has cleared

And why would my symptoms suddenly dissapear with out any treatments

Lisa

Answers:
have you been drinking more fluids?.if you have then this will help with flushing the UTI out of your system although the bacteria that caused the infection in the first place would still be present and could reappear but you would be in much more trouble as the infection could then cause you to get a kidney infection which is the result of an un-treated UTI, so yes keep that appt, take along a urine sample preferabbly an early morning one so that your GP can get that tested for you, beacause you will certainly need a course of antibiotics, in the mean time drink plenty of water and cranberry juice to help flush out your system and cranberry juice is good for that.

hope this helps.
You should keep the appt. That severe of an infection doesn't go away by itself. It is probably just arrested for a minute but surely will reappear if not treated.
And probably will be much more painful when it does come back!
Your symptoms sound like a UTI, but I'm not a doctor. Even though your symptoms disappeared, I would definitely keep the appointment with the doctor. You still may have an infection and you want to nip it in the bud before it possibly gets any worse. As to why the symptoms would disappear, that I don't know.
keep your appt no questions asked your health is more important than anything
