Can i be active while i have my period?

Well the good thing about ballet class is it's usually mostly girls.
I took ballet and that's why I learned how to use tampons but they're not for everybody. The girls in my class who didn't want to wear tampons would wear underwear under their tights and leotard and over top of them they would wear short and tight black exercise shorts. The shorts make the pad less noticeable and will help hide any leaks if there are any.
If your flow isn't super heavy, put on a thiner pad right before class starts and then change it right after class. That way it won't feel too bulky while you're dancing.
You can be active! You should maybe use a thicker pad because then, it will hold more and not feel like a diaper! lol
You can do everything with your period than when you don't have your period! You just have to go to the bathroom a lot more!
well, I don't know what you want us to tell you. Yes, it's definately possible for you to leak from your pad during ballet. So either suck it up, or learn to use tampons...ooops sorry, shouldn't have answered.
You should be fine. Just put on a new pad right before ballet. Your underwear and tights should hold it in place.
Good Luck
from what I've heard its actually better if you stay active during your period
your right the pad will feel bulky and you'll think everyone will know. if your period is not that heavy.. maybe you could get away with a panty liner while your doing ballet.. if not since you wont wear tampons.. i dont know what to tell you :(
btw.. we ALL hate periods.. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...
wear some tight underwear with your pads, so it will hold the pad in place.
you can do anything when you have your monthly time yeah its uncomterable and kind of annoying but if you really hate big pads try always altra thin pads i love them i cant use tampons so it gets anoying too wear pads but always altra thin is the best thing. and extercising also helps cramps and pain so i would extercise . best of luck everyone hates it dont feel left out.
Yes You can still do ballet but you already know to take precautions so just be careful and have fun, and it all just depends on how comfortable you are with it.
you can be active.
you can do anything with your period - some people even have sex which is yucky and disgusting! - but im just wondering if you do do ballet while wearing a pad and you do have to stretch your legs wont people see the bulky ness or at least be able to tell your wearing on - but if you dont care then yes you can do any activities and sports. i know you said dont suggest tampons but if you dont want people knowing you have a pad on then i suggest them - besides there much more comftable and you dont have to worry about leaking when doing sports.
oh im soooo worried 2 start b/c i do gymnastics, cheer, and dance and i dnt wnt 2 wear tampons either
Aw, I have the same problem at times! Only the thing I've learned is, you can wear however many heavy-duty pads *sing-song voice* and the others can't even see it!!
Or, I don't know if you've ever seen these, but they're selling 'period panties' or something like that. They're disposable underware and they're supposed to fix all of these problems. I'VE never used them but they're supposed to be very good...
And besides, do you think the other teen girls in your class never get periods? No, they have them just as much as you or me and they go through the same "can they see the pad? I feel gross!" but do you ever see their stuff??
It'll take working on, but you can relax. :-)
Sorry, pads just arent a good option for what your talking about doing. It would definately be noticeable if you are opening your legs in those itty bitty leotards. Of course you can be active, you can do whatever you want, even with a pad, hell you dont have to wear anything if you dont want!Thats just as good as a leaky pad as far as im concerned. im not suggesting tampons, but i dont see what the big deal is.
If your periods are very light use panty liners or some very small pad for protection. Some are probably too big for you, there are very thin ones. You must be young. A lot depends on your age and size.
To have at other times, go to movies, have friends over and play games ( board games, video games, sleep overs)
swim, skating, etc.
of course u can be active during your period ! never let ur period get in ur way of having fun. you can try using the thin pads that are made for regular periods, not like the overnight pads. i know that feel even worst . and put on a fresh one before u go out so it wont feel so bulky
I used to wear pads at night, but now I just use toilet paper. Yeah, weird. When wadded up, it actually absorbs more than a regular pad and it's easier to adjust and less bulky... if you position the TP right you shouldn't have any leaks... but just in case, maybe use a really thin panty liner (kotex makes really small, thin ones, I think) as well. Maybe only do this during the time you have ballet. You know.. right before, change your pad.
Hope this helped.
I don't know what your fear of tampons is. Unless there is a good medical reason not to use them I don't understand why you won't use them. Maybe you should just get over it and use them. I know you did not want to hear that but they are more comfortable than pads. Try them you might find you will like them.
Okay, so try using an ultra thin pad with wings (helps with side leaks), and get them in long or overnight. That should with leaks all together. They are very thin so they shouldn't feel bulky or like a diaper, and they are enough to cover all areas where leaks go. Staying active during your period is a good idea, helps with cramps. Good Luck!
I only use Pads, also. I took Tae-kwon-do. The class was an hour and we wore gi's(Uniforms) and they aren't tight so no one could tell. At first its uncomfortable but later on I forgot about it. So, just wear a pad and don't wear tight clothing! Or skip that day.
Best of luck to you!
If you get bad cramps then being active will kind of help. Maybe you should try pads that soak up fast and keep you dry. I don't use tampons either. I don't remember the exact name but I use stayfree dry max. I find ultrathins more comfortable than thick ones. And the ones with wings keep it in place.
You actually should be active it takes away the pain
