Does a womans period actually come four times a year?

Question:
i was looking at this commercial and i just don't believe it. i don't feel like mine comes 4x a year. what about you ladies? is this true?

Answers:
Your period comes once a month so it should be coming 12 times are year. The commercial you seen may have been for a birth control pill called Seasonal. This pill does allow women taking it to only have 4 periods a year. Without this pill however, a women she get her period 12 times, unless taking a different contraceptive to limit the number of her periods.

Hope this helps. :-)
12 sounds more like it.
I think that is only for a certain type of birth control. That particular medicine could be the case..BUT NO I get mine once a month!
that was from a birth control commercial
No it's about 12 times a year unless you get put on a special birth control. Or even regular birth control.you can skip that last week a few times if you feel like it. But as far as naturally if you are regular it sticks to around 12
If you are on a certain birth control it will come like that but normal periods come every month.
That was a commercial for a birth control product that also changes your cycle. It is unnatural to only have it 4 times.
every 28 days for most women.
there is a birth control you can take where you only have 4 periods a year. I am not sure of the name of it but YES woman can have only 4 periods a year if they are taking that certain birth control.
It can come that infrequently if you are on one of those new birth control programs.
every month for me.
I always thought they was once a month unless u as pregnant and or on the pill.
That is an advertising from a type a birth control thats says if you use their stuff you will have less periods.
Woman have their periods about every 29 days.
No, once every 28 days for normal, menstruating women.
The commercial you seen was for a birth control pill that can make you have ONLY 4 periods a year.
That specific pill only , will do that.

I am assuming you are too young to have your own period, so here is an informative link to help you with the ins & outs of having your period.
If your a woman how can you not answer the question?? THINK JUST A LITTLE HARDER.

How many months are in a year??

how many times a month do you get your period?
No. A period comes once a month. You should be able to count the days between yours to figure out how long it takes.
well if you are using the product from the commercial, then maybe it does only come 4x a year. i don't use that crap so mine comes 12 x a year.
that doesnt happen naturally, you have to take birthcontrol for it. i'm on it and when you have periods like mine its a blessing. i dont care if people think its unnatural, they arent the ones going through my pain, and they can handle their periods however they want.
12 times --- 12 months --- a year --- CRAP! it would be so much easier if its only once a YEAR...and world would be nicer if men gets it!!!!!!!!!!...
Well actually it comes every month about, So about 11-12 times a year.
i think it's 12 times a year. My Health teacher told me you start it about every 28 days after your period pauses
i dont think u listened to the entire commercial.. it was a commercial for birth control pills, right? well when u use birth control pills, the chemicals/hormones in the pill controls ur menstruation cycle. This specific type of pill can be taken in such a way that you can reduce your periods to just 4 times a year. It is not natural, but the pills enable u to do so. According to those people, having ur periods just 4 times a yr is not a bad thing.. who knows!
on certain birth controls it will come four times a year. but if your regular it should be 12 times a year. every 21 or 28 days.
i heard from a doctor that your case is still normal..though you have a few chance to conceive..
That's an ad for a type of birth control that forces your period to come only 4x a year. And that is true. And safe - there is no medical reason for your body to have monthly periods.
No, your period comes about every 21 + days. For you to only have your period 4 times a year you need to take a special birth control pill. That is probably what the commercial you saw was for. Women who are on birth control don't have a "real period". Because birth control stops an egg from leaving the ovaries (if taken correctly), there is no real reason for the lining of your uterus to shed. However, most of the birth control women take makes your body have a "fake period" mainly because doctors thought women would be freaked out if they didn't get it. It is a sort of cleansing process for your body though, so this new pill means that you only have to go through your menstrual cycle 4 times a year, however, it still stops eggs from being released.

Hope that helps!
The commercial is for a a birth control pill that is supposed to help you to eventually only have four cycles a year.
You can take constant birth control and avoid the whole thing altogether! That's the way to go. My doc gives me Nuvarings to just change out every 3 weeks so I never bleed. Love it!
