Help. I'm emarrased to ask my mom about making a doc's appointment for birth control pills- not what you think

Question:
I'm not going to be losing my virginity any time soon, but I was anorexic for a while and haven’t had a period in two years. When I told my doctor about this for a non-ED related appointment, he said I really needed to make another appointment to go on birth control to get a hormone balance to stop the calcium from being robbed from my bones and such (plus, I really need some of that estrogen back). I have no problem speaking to a doctor about this, but I'm weary about confronting my MOM on this. We have an extremely closed and awkward relationship. How I would feel about talking to my mom about this = how you would feel about talking to your uncle about this. Make that your creepiest uncle. So I don't really know what I'm shooting for as an answer here, but I'm just desperate. I miss my insane sex drive, I'm worried about the fact that I'm missing out on essential hormones during my teen years and not having a normal adolescents, but that isn't enough to get me the nerve to speak up…

Answers:
i know this isnt what you wanted to hear but
take a deep breath and go for it.
do it when shes driving or something...
just say
"mom. i need to talk to you about something. i need to go on birth control"
and then it's out. =]
GOOD LUCK!
have your doc talk to your mom

and if you're a virgin, why are you so concerned about losing your "insane sex drive"...?
I have the same problem, but me and my mom are close and its still wierd. If you make an appointment at planned parenthood (there all across U.S. depending on where you live) and i think they can give you free birth control without your mom knowing.
i'm quite sure your mom would understand if you explained the situation in whole to her, no matter what your relationship is. if i had to talk to my creepiest uncle about birth control pills he would be mighty worried. if i talked to ANYONE about birth control pills they would most likely think i was joking, because you see: i am of the male gender.

btw, you don't need an insane sex drive. sex drives are stupid.
Your mom is the 1st person you should have gone to...she of all people knows what you're dealing with.
i was anorexic before. my doctor had to put me on birth control no matter what. explain to your mom that you have not had your period for 2 years. it is NOT healthy for you if you don't have your period, and any doctor can explain why.

just dont mention about the sex drive to your mom, lol. and yeah it will come back, trust me. if she doesnt allow it, then go to a planned parenthood clinic. everything is supposed to be confidential there.
