This procedure simulates the body's natural scaring response to infection ... there should not be any affect from the surgery.
Hi
I am in Britian and so it is not licensed here yet, but I just want a word of caution regarding the pain level. Many women getting a coil put in experience cramp like pain this can sometimes be severe. This implant is being put into your fallopian tube so the pain on insertion may be more than they state. If you have already had children it will be easier to implant. I would check how many people have had problems with it in terms of infection and injury on insertion.
It should not affect the hormones or menopause as it is not doing anything to affect the function of the ovaries. It will cause scarring thus close the tubes off so the egg cannot get into the womb and sperm can't get to the egg.
Hope this helps.
