AM I ANOREXIc??

I am 108 pounds and i eat about 500 caleries a day but i exercise a lot i am in every sport and they all overlap so i was wondering if 108 pounds is too skinny to be 16 and 5'6

The fact that you are intentionally restricting your calories back that much every day and still find it necessary to exercise and be very, very active points to a very big problem. Instead of 500 calories a day, you need at least 1700 calories a day (since you mentioned that you are very active). Yes, you would be considered anorexic. Get some help!

You don't have to be skinny or a certain weight to have an eating disorder.

EDIT: Even if you don't like how your body looks, losing weight by not eating enough is not the way to go. You'll actually probably lose more weight by eating more. When you restrict your calories like that, every extra calorie that you eat is stored as fat because your body is in survival mode and it's very, very difficult to get rid of fat and keep it off that way. If you just eat as many calories as you're supposed to eat, your metabolism will return to normal and you will be much more likely to lose weight and keep it off healthfully and more effectively than with an eating disorder.

What you added just adds to my suspicion of you having a very serious eating disorder, and you need to get help.

i dont think u are.. unless u purposly dont eat to lose weight and tink your fat.. because your not fat.

If you are happy with your apperance and you dont deprive yourself of food, i would say your fine. Check and see what your ideal weight range is!
anorexic means you purposely do not eat. if youre as active as you claim to be, 500 calories a day is not even CLOSE to where you need to be. i am 5'10" and 125 lbs, so there are those of us out there who are just naturally thin (i eat more than most people i know and just do not put on weight)...
Sweetie, anorexia comes in many forms. Some people restrict calories, some exercise excessively. I think that 108 is a little thin, and restricting your calories and exercising will start to take its toll on your body. Have you had irregular periods? This is often the first place malnutrition will show up. I would talk to someone about this before it gets out of control.
I believe gaining a few more pounds is a good idea. Youre not anorexic though.
If you're doing sports and you don't faint, then you're not anorexic.

But since you ARE doing lots of sports, your body needs to be replenished with food, and 500 calories a day is not enough. Eat healthy, and you'll still stay in shape!

If you play so many sports you really should eat a lot more. However, I'm 5'0 and weigh 87 pounds and play sports, so i konw how hard it can be to gain weight! If you get more concered about it, go to your doctor. They can give you vitamins and drinks to help you maintain and ever gain your weight properly.
why do you eat only 500 calories a day? That is not enough. Why don't you try adding some more healthy stuff to your diet? I think about 1200- 1500 calories a day is what you need.
500 calories a day is truly no enough for anyone, especially if you're into all the exercise and sports. As far as if you're too skinny, call your family doctor's office and ask for a height/weight chart - that will help.
it doesn't sound like you are anorexic to me, but you do need to try and gain a little more weight. The fact that you are eating a lot, and keeping it down is a good sign, it is perfectly normal to want to watch your calorie intake, Good Luck!
Yes you are way too thin. When your caloric intake does not match your calorie burn your body will start breaking down muscle for fuel, your heart muscle is not exempt.
Eating insuficent amounts and excessive exercise are anorexic behaviors and amount to what is essentially slow starvation.

please please eat more i am 30 now and was like you at your age, i wouldn't say annorexic but i had an eating disorder i also calory counted and was very sporty. i wouldn't listen to anyone when they told me i had a problem. now at thirty i am living to regret it. i still have an eating disorder that i have been told i will probably have for the rest of my life. though i am much better than i used to be. i suffer bad moodswings and depression, i have been left infertile and i have a real painfull stomache ulser all because of an eating disorder. not to mention all the names and teasing i got when i was really skinny, i looked dreadfull. i never knew that if you excersize alot you actually need to eat more. i so wish someone had told me back then. i don't wish to scare you i am just living proof of what it can do and i fear for any teenager that is going down the same path i did. eat more hun, eat healthy please.
