Hey all im 17 weeks preg today wipeeeee?
Question:
well my question is i had a scan at 8 weeks has had a mc b4 and missed 4 periods due to PCOS so midwife said no point in going for 12 week scan couse its just a dateing scan and you have had that well im due for my 20 week scan 10th spet which takes me to 20 weeks 6 days i have a gr8 preg morbing sickness leg ache etc but i worry that when i go for my scan sumthing could be wrong anyone else waited this long?? i had a mc 4 years ago at 6 weeks found out at my 12 week scan this little 1 has taken me 6 years tc so you can see why i worry at week 13 i heard the babys heart beat :-) i see middy fri so what u think??

congratulations on your great news! it sounds like you`ve waited a very long time for this!
if you`ve already heard the heart beat then it sounds like things are going well, you should start to feel the baby moving soon if you have`nt already.
good luck with your 20 wk scan, will you find out if its a blue or pink scan? personally i think the mw who said why bother with a dating scan was abit off, especially considering your history.
when i got pregnant again after a miscarriage my mw sent for for an early scan to make sure things were ok!

I, too, have PCOS and was able to have a completely normal and uncomplicated pregnancy. I had my first ultrasound at 9 weeks to confirm the pregnancy and the next at 20 weeks. I know it nerve wrecking to have to wait but since you heard the heartbeat at 12 weeks and your midwife seems to think all is ok, you should be fine. Are you feeling the baby move yet? If not, it shouldn't be long.
As for the morning sickness and leg pain...continue to drink plenty of water and keep your legs elevated as much as possible.

You will be fine I had 2 mc's 1 b4 my eldest & 1 after .Everything will turn out ok,every1 worries.Please talk to some1 tell your midwife all your worries no matter how small they seem.Dont keep all the worry in it will make you feel better.Try joining a mum to be club or talk to other mums to be in the midwife'sclinic.

I would have insisted on the 12weeks scan. I am in the same position as you although I am only 9weeks now & had a scan to check it was not eptopic again, but i have my 12 week scan booked for sept - its a reasurance scan for me not a dating scan because evvery day I expect something to go wrong & I expect something to be wrong at the 12wk scan as well because it's happened before, so to wait for my 20week scan would not be an option as I would demand the scan or else go private for my own peace of mind.
Good luck with everything & don't be bullied you have a right to your scans even if you have had to have extra ones inbetween.

dont worry bout anything just concertrate on having that baby and thinking of boy and girl baby names (if not now gender)
