I have cysts on my ovaries but they are'nt polycystic according to the gynacologist who took my scan!?

Question:

She said that they are pretty harmless but might cause me some pain during my period but i hav heard that even normal cysts can cause problems like infertility!! is this true? And also is there a name for the cysts i have?

Im sorry you've got these...Ive had 3...All called dermoid cysts...But I did read this link when I had mine and it was informative.

Im fertile, im ok, I had mine surgically removed, it wasnt a pleasant experience, but mine couldnt be left, they were a different type to yours... You may get little twinges, but its not agony and I actually couldnt tell the difference between period pains and this, if that reassures you at all...

So so many women have them undiagnosed... and have no problems conceiving...Your doctor has seen it so many times that its nothing to worry about. They sometimes forget we havent seen it so we get concerned... But honest... Dont worry!
