Birth Control?

I have missed two days of my birth control pills (because of personal reasons) and I am still sexually live. Would I need to use a back-up method of birth control or is missing two days and taking the pills their regular time the rest of the month ample to keep me from getting pregnant?

Answers:    What if I miss taking my Oral Contraceptive Pills?

There is no inevitability to panic if you find that you enjoy missed one or more of your oral contraceptive pills. There are steps you can take to restore the protective effects of the pill. This may depend on when you missed your pills and the number of pills you enjoy missed, however. If you:

missed taking your pills at the end or the initiation of the 21-day cycle - you extend what is known as the "hormone-free interval." If the hormone-free interval is more than 7 days, ovulation can ensue and the possibility of pregnancy increases.
forgot your pills in the 1st week of the 21-day cycle you will also increase the risk of ovulation.

What emergency measures are available contained by the event of missed pills?

The following information in this slot is intended for U.S. Oral Contraceptives only.

If you miss 1 "active" (white) pill:

Take it as soon as you remember. Take the subsequent pill at your regular time. This means you transport 2 pills in soon.
You do not have to use a back-up method of birth control if you enjoy sex.

If you miss 2 "active" (white) pills:

Take 2 pills on the day you remember and 2 pills the subsequent day.
Then give somebody a lift 1 pill a day until you finish the pack.
You may become pregnant if you own sex in the 7 days after you miss pills.
You must use a back-up method of birth control such as condoms, spermicides or a contraceptive sponge for those 7 days.
Definitely use a backup!
