*Girls only, Please help*?
Question:
1. What are some ways I could bring the topic up? I know I don't need to ask but I want to no matter what.
2.What is your opinion on tampons? And in your opinion what is the best brand?
3.Would it be stupid or fullish to ask my doctor?
Thank you ahead of time!
Answers:
You shouldn't be afraid to talk to your doctor about it, she's probably got the best knowledge base for a question like this, among others.
1.) Just tell her exactly what you just said... tell you that you play a lot of sports and were wondering if switching to tampons would actually be better for you
2.) I prefer tampons. I, like you play a lot of sports so I found tampons to be a lot easier than pads. For me, the best brand is playtex gentle glide, they never seem to have leaks or anything. I recently tried playtex sport, there were ok, but I definitely like the gentle glides better.
3.) It will not be stupid or foolish of you at all to ask your doctor. Doctor's are there to help you and answer your questions. I'm sure you won't be the first girl to talk to your doctor about this, and I'm also sure you won't be the last. Doctor's have a wide array of knowledge, make them use it.
Hope this helps. :-)
theres no such thing as a dumb question. its always good to ask a doctor, they are full of all kinds of information.
1. Just tell her exactly what you wrote here. Tell her you're active and play sports and want to switch.
2. Tampons can be very convenient, especially if you are an active person. I use Playtex when I do use tampons.
3. Of course not! You should be able to talk to your doctor about anything health-related. Doctors are used to talking about stuff like this, they do it all of the time!
Well you don't have to ask your doctor, you can just go buy them if you want them.
They are alot better than pads, they are uncomfortable sometimes, but it just depends.
But no, it wouldn't be foolish.
1. since your doctor is a female you should have no problems with asking her just tell her that your pretty active and you play alot of sports and tell her to tell you about tampons like the risks and about how to use it.
2. my opinion on tampons well start of with a lite tampon first and i haven't tried many brands but ive tried tampax and it works pretty well.(meaning well there was no leaking but like it felt uncomfortable my first time.)
3. i don't think it would be fullish to ask your doctor because hopefully you get accurate answers from her, and i also think she won't be uncomfortable about answering your questions.
when you are asking your doctor a question it is never a dumb question and your doctor would love to help. And ways to bring it up are just asking about tampns in general and what she thinks are the better ones for you.
Don't be afraid to ask; doctors get asked all kinds of stuff and aren't embarrassed by any of it. In my opinion they are probably the best source of information, because they'll tell it like it is and won't lie to you.
If you feel funny asking anything, maybe write the questions down in a note and give it to your doctor instead. That way, you won't have to verbally ask.
You don't need to ask a doctor...just your mom or a friend or trusted aunt/relative. I use Tampax, and they're great. It seems like you are younger, so I'd suggest using regular absorbancy. Your mom can talk you through the application process, and can go with you to the store to buy them. Good luck! I'm sure you'll be fine!
