Ahh. help!?

Question:
I'm 13 and I've had my period for like more then 8 months already. And it suxs. And I feel really uncomfortable around ppl when I have it. Is there anything I can do to make the flow slower without taking pills? I've been thinking about using a tampon when school starts, is that a good idea? Cause i'm tired of seeing blood when I use the restroom.

Answers:
I was about 13 when I started wearing tampons. It did help a lot with confidence. But, I would suggest wearing a thin panty liner on heavier days. Unlike pads where it takes a lot to overflow, once a tampon overflows, it means business! You may like the "Pearl" or the new mini. Go to the tampax site, it should give you directions and a phone number if you have specific questions and don't have a sister or cousin who can help you out. Try the regular first.
I hear your pain. Tampons work great for me. Keep using one - just make sure you also wear a pad just in case. When I use them I can shorten the lengths of my period from 7 to 3-4 days.
i know it sucks!! your always scared your leaking. i'm afraid there is no way to "slow" down your period but you can use tampons...they hold in well and won't leak at all! just make note of the instructions! I don't use those myself though.
TAMPONS! supers work best on the heavy days. it feels like you aren't even on your period. and have you ever been sitting down and then when you need to stand up, you don't want to cause you're scared that it's going to leak all over the place? well, with tampons, you have nothingggg to worry about. especially in school when you have to sit down for long periods of time.
