The colposcopy is like a pap smear but you will have a feeling uncomfortable, approaching menstrual cramps during the exam & after (take some ibuprofen before you move about in). The dr. will use a colposcope (microscope) to view your cervix, they'll swab a vinegar resembling substance on your cervix and from there lug samples from the problemed areas (which turn white beside the vinegar) to send to pathology. In most cases, you'll know how to view what's going on on a eyeshade.
You are sedated for it, so you won't feel anything.
