Why does it hurt when I put a tampon in?
Question:

You need to buy slimmer tampons, you must have regular or jumbo size. Take it out right now because using one will cause severe pain (I made the same mistake as you) and possibley chaffing. When your in the suppermarket going to buy them, set the slim, petitie, or small variety.
Also try getting the plastic applicators (for easier insertion)
Why do I have 2 thumbdowns?
If you're a guy, yeah
it shouldnt hurt.. u might not be use to it yet. maybe u should try the junior ones.. they are smaller.
talk to your mom!!
because it hurts the your first time, you probably have it in right you just have to leave in so you get used to it.
You're probably dry. I'm 30 and hate using tampons. I'm a pad girl myself.
GET OFF THE COMPUTER AND SPEAK TO YOUR PARENTS AND/OR LEGAL GAURDIAN.
It could be you have the wrong size..they do have slender teens one
it could be you inserted it wrong..did not put it in high enough
why not just use a pad..they have lots out there that are realy invisable
You'll have to push it in further, i'm afraid.. If its in far enough, you wont feel it at all. I had this problem too when i first started, push it in as far as you can and it'll be fine.
It may not be inserted all the way. There is some discomfort when inserting. Try the plastic tampons, they are waaaay easier and much more comfortable!!
Hope this helps!
You're possibly doing it wrong.. It needs to go really far up your vagina, if any of the tampon is sticking out (excluding the string) it's in wrong. I wasn't able to wear a tampon because it hurt so bad until I was 17 (and had sex for the first time). It's nothing to worry about, you just have tight muscles in there, I'd stick to pads until it's "loosened up" in there.
Maybe you pushing it too far or not far enough.
Maybe you too young for this.
I wouldnt advise using unless you not a virgin... you know how far to put it in then.
good luck
You may want to try the "junior" tampons or the Playtex Gentle Glide. If you are new to using tampons, it's all about the angle of insertion. Revisit the instruction pamplet and see if you were using the correct angle. Good luck, it's worth it---sometimes pads feel like you're trying to wear a matress!
You might have a size too large for you. I did that and yes it did hurt. but now I have a smaller size and it doesn't hurt anymore.
its simply because its not used to it as it shouldnt ,try wearing pads or smaller tampons my gf had the same prob until she found the "right" ones for her
push it up farther. you may have to do this after you've taken the applicater out. just push it up with your finger until the pain is gone. it also could depend on how much you are bleeding because tampons can be uncomfortable when you are barely bleeding. maybe try some different brands, one that says SLIM.
Yes, being that it is your first time, it is going to be quite painful. But it will get easier, I promise. The first time I ever tried to use a tampon I probably sat in the bathroom two hours trying to make it work. My advice to you is to relax! That is most important. It is going to hurt because it is stretching the hymen that has never had anything pass it before. This is completely natural. Try using the slender size and I found that coughing helped during the first few times I used them. And don't get discouraged, the pain will go away. And if it continues to be painful, by all means, do not keep it in there...just try again later. Good luck
Well, are you a virgin? If yeah, then that's the problem.
you didn't put it in far enough. keep practicing. I think I went through 4 or 5 before I finally got one in right
well you might not have it in right but try it again and go to the store and get the smallest size and try that if that doesnt work then talk to your mom and she will help you see when i started to first wear tampons they hurt and i just keep on putting them in when i was on my monthly visiter and i sometimes i forget about them because iam so use to them so dont give up and they are so much more better then pads
well, it's going to hurtthe first couple times while putting it in.
you may need a smaller size like slim or jouinor.
you may be too young for them.
also, you might need to push it up farther if anything besides the string is sticking out, you have to push it up farther.
ask your mom for first time help.
i ad to do the same thing
good luck :D
You may be suffering from S.U.I.T. which is an acronym for "Something Up In There". It's the leading cause of death in women ages 18-80 but has been known to affect younger women.
then its in wrong. sis you take out all the aplicator cause first time i did it i only took off the bottom part.
You probably don't have it in far enough, didn't angle it right, or your period wasn't heavy enough for it to 'slide' in.
Try buying smaller tampons like Playtex SlimFits in a light absorbency. As you get older and as your period starts to become more 'normal' you will have a heavier flow and it will get easier to slide the tampon in.
Make sure you're angling the tampon towards your tailbone. The vagina does not go up, it goes back. So pretend you're putting it in towards your butt.
Also, it sounds like you're only holding the applicater up to your vagina and not putting it inside of you. Make sure the applicater is inside of your vagina up to the finger-grip area. Then push the 2nd tube into the applicater.
Good Luck (=
It could be numerous things.
*I hope you done this while your on your period 'cause if not, you don't have enough blood to absorb it.
*It could be that you didn't use the right absorbency.
*You may not have put it in far enough.
When I use to use them (I'm on Depo, so I don't get a period any more) the last two use to be my main problems.
So, I hope this has helped. :)
Ok i think the reason it hurts so much because u never had anything like that inside of u before. my first time putting one in hurted as well. try to go with the small ones first and try those and when u get use to those try some super ones. i believe they have tampons for teenagers. just go to the store and see if they have some of those. they might be lil better for you sweetheart
