Horrible headaches during pregnancy?

Question:
Here's my dilemma. I'm 15 weeks pregnant, and the past few weeks, I've been experiencing HORRIBLE headaches. They're right up there with Migraines, and I've been getting them every day, all day. They're immobilizing. I've seen my normal doctor, and my OB and neither is giving me any help. They just say it's normal. I know my body and know it's NOT normal. I feel so run down and sick to my stomach because of these headaches. Yesterday, I went to the OB and the doc said my baby was doing good, and that I just basically had to suck it up and deal with it. So I'm back to work today and the headaches are back 10 fold. I just can't take it. The only reflief I get is to go home and rest in bed. I'm literally in tears at work because I'm in so much pain. I would truly like to be put on bed rest, at least until these headaches subside. Would I have a better chance of this if I went to the ER? I'm at my wits end and need help. Thank you.

Answers:
Michelle G is right, get a second opinion. But for temporary relief, wrap your head up tight with an ace bandage. I know it sounds silly, but it relieves the pressure of the headache.
you should get a second opinon although headaches are commomn in pregnancy , they are not normally this severe , it sounds like you have high blood pressure , i would ring your doctor or midwife and say you need to have a check up , good luck xxx
I know the headaches are painful ( I too dealt with them). Don;t be afraid to get a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th opinion. If oyu don;t think this is normal then talk to another dr. Is your dr. checking your urine at EVERY appt.?
they are right that headaches are normal (caused form hormones and sometimes stress) BUT if it imobilizes you they need to look into it more. My dr. gave me Tylenol 3 for mine (of course I WAS on bed rest). Try calling your dr. office again and tell them that you need more relief in order to continue to work, or just straight out ask them if they can write you a notice saying you shouldn't work right now.

I assume you also told them about the miscarriage (which should have made some difference) and they informed you of the necessary precautions. If they did NOT do these things perhaps try getting another dr. one that will LISTEN to you, and treat you right...it sounds liek where your going now they are rushed or whatever.

Good Luck, and try to get as much rest as possible...Trust me I've been there!
(Please watch for spots in front of your eyes, excessive swelling, high blood pressure, strong smelling urine..these are all signs of Preeclampsia and need to be addressed rigth away!)
