Mefonamic Acid tablets (on prescription) are the best. They are specifically for period pains, not like Ibufrofen etc
i would say try midol or ibuprofin and if that doesn't help i would see a gyno would could put them on birth control pills which can regulate and help with cramping and pain

there are painkillers designed for this pain, Feminax, is one but if I were you I would ask your doctor about having the Mirena IUS coil fitted.
It worked wonders for my wife who was experiencing massive pain all he life and later on heavy periods.
