Side effects from coming off the pill?
Question:
Thanks in advance! XX
Answers:
I have no idea if mine is a side effect, but I came off after only 6 months of being on the pill about 2 months ago and have pretty much been on every 2 weeks.
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!
Only one I can think of is getting pregnant....
Period might be irregular and heavier for a while but nothing else.
Yes but nottin to bad your period might be all over the place for awhile but will soon settle and if you are trying for a baby it may take a year or so just until your body goes back to normal
Contraceptive Pills are Man-made hormones - estrogen and progesterone - mimic the ones your body naturally produces monthly. Estrogen prevents the egg from maturing and being released from the ovary. No egg - no pregnancy. Progesterone causes changes in the lining of the uterus and in the consistency of the cervical mucus. The Mini-Pill contains progesterone only.
Its Advantages are: Reduces the risk of ovarian and uterine cancer, pelvic inflammatory disease, ovarian cysts. May decrease: pre-menstrual syndrome, acne, bleeding, anemia, less rheumatoid arthritis symptoms, and breast tenderness. Periods are more regular. Can be used for women over age 40. Does not interfere with lovemaking. Mini-pill can be used while breast-feeding.
Its Disadvantages are: Does not protect against STD's. Must be taken daily. Cannot be used by those with a history of: breast cancer, blood clots or at risk to develop blood clots, liver disease, kidney disease, unexplained uterine bleeding, smokers over age 35, melanoma (a type of skin cancer), and those on certain medications. Should not be used by those with: light periods, high blood pressure, diabetes, migraine headaches, depression, sickle cell disease, fibroids. Serious side effects (rare): blood clots, liver disease, high blood pressure, gall bladder disease, migraine headaches. Common side effects include: nausea, breast tenderness, mid-cycle bleeding the first few months, weight gain, increased appetite, mood swings, depression, headaches, skin problems.
Basically we have those hormone in our body already just that in pills its regulated. No there will be no problem after you stop using your pills.

you may feel a little flu-ish for a while and your period will either be irregular or stop for a while depending on whether you were on combined or POP's. I went from combined to POP's and my period disappeared until saturday when i started the POP's again after being off BC for 2 months.
It's been a very crampy and painful few days but it's over now lol
