What is wrong with my nipple?

Question:

For the past 4 days I have had a red, swollen nipple. The top of the nipple is really swollen, and the area around it is bright red. It is terribly sore, and isn't getting any better. I have never had a nipple piercing, and I am not pregnant, and I haven't done anything at all to irritate it. If anyone has any ideas as to what could be wrong please let me know.

Could be an infection in it, or a parasite. I suggest having a doctor look at it.

was your bf/husband biting on it

You could have a plugged duct in your breast. Try a warm pack and see if that helps and it drains some, or better yet just go to a doc in the box and have it looked at, if you need a referral they will provide one.

Please go to your doctor as soon as possible. I don't want to alarm you in anyway but there is a new type of breast cancer that manifests in this way quite quickly and is not widely known about. I have added an article for you to look at, I pray that this is not what is wrong with you. However, whatever your outcome please help me in educating women about this rare form of breast cancer that is taking lives rapidly and little research is being done on. We could save someones life.
