Definitely, stress can be a contributing factor for your period being late. I'm sorry about your parents, I know that must be very hard on you.
But, how many periods have you actually had in the past? It can take up to a year (or more) for your periods to become regulated. Say you had your period in March, you might get it again in April, then again, you might not, same for May, June, etc,; it varies from woman to woman. Just relax. Carry pads with you just in case you start when you are away from home and you will be protected.
stress can definitely delay your period. so can changing your eating habits, taking different medication, exercising more frequently. lots of things can change it.
just try to relax and not stress about it. i know for sure that stressing about it will not help.
hope everything turns out ok. if not, try to talk your mom into letting you go to the gynecologist to find out why.
Stress can cause your period to be late. This is assuming there is no possibility you are pregnant. At 14, it is also not unusual to be off schedule. Wait another week and talk to your mom if still nothing.
It could be stress, or it could be a more serious problem. If you don't have it in the next 30 days or so, you should see a doctor.
