Answers:
Nobody can give you a diagnosis over the internet.

Some infections do require lengthy antibiotic treatments but many other do not. Doctors are human and prone to mistakes, just like anyone else, and there are good ones and bad ones ... so if you have doubts, go see another doctor who is not at the same clinic/hospital as the doctor who is prescribing antiobiotics to you now.
Tell the new doctor about your entire medical history and get a second opinion!
Go see a urologist.
Crannberry Juice. It cleans out the system.
I have never heard of taking antibiotics month after month for anything. If you really do have an INFECTION, maybe it originates from somewhere else. You should go see a urologist about this problem.
Make sure you're drinking around 2 liters of water a day.
What you eat and drink almost always plays a role with infections.
I think once you pay more attention to those it will finally clear up.
ewwwww, gross!!
go to doctor
Why you have to keep taking them over and over for so long I don't understand. If you have a urinary tract infection or a bladder infection, you should get a Z pack from your dr. it is 5 pills you take and it is gone. You should not stay on antibiotics indefinitely, they can mess up your regular meds too.
Try some 100% Cranberry juice. The acidity in it helps.
THERE ARE OTC PILLS THAT CAN HELP YOU RELEIVE A UTI AND ALSO DRINK LOTS OF WATER OR ASK YOUR DOCTOR TO GIVE YOU A RX FOR A WATER PILL CALLED LASIX. IT WILL HELP YOU PEE, BUT YOU NEED TO BE DRINKING THE WATER AS WELL.
Pee
well cranberry juice helps but since u have had recurrent uti's unfortunately there isn't anything else to do but to stay with the antibiotics. maybe if this has been going on so long u need to look deeper into why u have these infections all the time. maybe a structural abnormality that can be fixed. hope this helps and good luck
trust your doctor, what he is doing, but if you really have any concerns you should open up to your docter, he'll ttell you anything
Tips on preventing urinary tract infections
Drink plenty of water to flush out bacteria. Drinking cranberry juice may also help prevent urinary tract infections. However, if you're taking warfarin (brand name: Coumadin), check with your doctor before using cranberry juice to prevent urinary tract infections. Your doctor may need to adjust your warfarin dose or you may need to have more frequent blood tests.
Don't hold your urine. Urinate when you feel like you need to.
Wipe from front to back after bowel movements.
Urinate after having sex to help wash away bacteria.
Use enough lubrication during sex. Try using a small amount of lubricant (such as K-Y Jelly) before sex if you're a little dry.
If you get urinary tract infections often, you may want to avoid using the diaphragm. Ask your doctor about other birth control choices.
Drinking large amounts of fluids is essential in getting rid of a bladder infection. The extra fluid dilutes the bacterial count and flushes them out faster. Acidic beverages like cranberry juice are also regarded as helpful. Drinking a tablespoon or two of apple cider vinegar every day might also help, but vinegar is hard on the teeth so rinse afterwards.
As for the antibiotics, there are antibiotics and there are antibiotics. If you're taking something like Bactrim, which is based on sulfur compounds, it's probably safe to take it for a long time.
get another doctor you obviously don't trust this one much-Plenty of water will help. Antibiotics like any other meds can be harmful especially over the long haul but you need to find out why you are having repeated infections. Consult a urologist
First of all, go to a Urologist. An infection that doesn't go away with antibiotics needs to be checked out. If your Doctor is giving you the same antibiotic over a long period of time it will become ineffective. Do yourself a favor and find a good Urologist.
I well me and my mom have the same problem my mom had to have surgery and weres diapers every day and takes anibiotics.I however were diapers sometimes but have accidents. I think you should see adifferent doctor if he/she
recomends it also then take it.Dont worry there are other girls like you who have to have phisical exams. I had to get one from a guy doctor and there was no nurse and my mom was in the other room. good luck.
Okay, you MAY have a 'urinary tract infection' or you may have 'pseudo-nephritis' ... and many doctors think putting people on 'daily antibiotics' can keep the people who have this 'pseudo-nephritis' from GETTING 'infections' ...
First DRINK MORE PLAIN WATER ... stop drinking anything with 'caffeine' in it except for one 'cup' in the morning, and don't drink ANY milk (except for the 'rare' milkshake, which is made with ice cream and milk, and not 'straight milk') ...
I have a 'chronic psuedo-nephritis' and REFUSED to take the 'prophylactic antibiotics' and just started drinking more PLAIN WATER and 'clear' fruit juices ... and I haven't had an 'infection' for over 25 years now. I suggest that you STOP TAKING THE ANTIBIOTICS and have it put into your 'medical record' that you have been 'on antibiotics' for several years (you may now have an 'immunity' to those antibiotics and will need 'the big guns' if/when you do get an infection) ... and start drinking AT LEAST 64 ounces of plain water or fruit juice a day (up to 94 ounces) ... you'll probably need to 'pee more often' and your 'urinary tract' will feel MUCH BETTER. BEWARE of drinking 'plain cranberry juice' though ... if you like it, then 'mix it with 3/4 water to 1/4 juice' when you drink it, because it could be that you are 'irritating' your urinary tract by drinking way too MUCH 'potent cranberry juice.' Also have a 'good long talk' with your doctor about 'why' you have been 'on antibiotics' for so long ... YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW, and you have the right to REFUSE to take anything even if your doctor 'prescribes it' if you think it could be causing more 'harm' than good. Become a 'REALLY KNOWLEDGEABLE PATIENT' and take responsibility for your own 'good health.'
antibiotics are extremely bad for your kidneys...among other things. Antibiotics can cause your kidneys to stop filtering the toxins from your blood- renal failure. You should ask your doctor if there are any other options for you because this is doing major damage to your organs as we speak.
