With monostat therapy, it will take a few days for symptoms to resolve. You may consdier buying a vaginal cream for itching:

If you have been sexually active, Herpes Simplex can give simiar symptoms of intense itching.
Usualy with yeast infection, there can be a thick curd-like vaginal discharge--this would make you think it is less likely Herpes Simplex if STD is a concern.
well the monostat needs to start taking effect. Is it a 1, 3, or 7 day treatment. It takes a day or two to start working if that is in fact the problem.

i never had to use one. but i do get the symptoms now and again the best thing for me is loose boxer style undies. they let u get air so that you dont keep that damp feeling between your legs try washing with just plain warm water some soaps can irritate that area very easy wish ya the best of luck hun oh and for that kit u have you can call the ER about and u dont have to give a name or anything its open 24/7 just look it up in the phone book

Be sure to rub some on the outside too, and try not to scratch- If you have any Benadryl that might help (pills by mouth) it relieves itching and helps you sleep too, you will feel much better in a day or so-
And don't be shy about talking to Mom-it happens to all of us!
