Answers:
Your friend having her period for two weeks straight is not a normal reaction to birth control. Birth control typically does a great job of regulating your period. I took it when I was your age because my periods were horrible painful and irregular. It fixed me right up. I also took it after I had my baby because my periods got out of whack again. Fixed me right up twice. :)
u should really talk to your doctor about that situation because it sound serious. Im not sure about the birth control part though
You need to talk to your doctor- and so does your friend.

Your doctor should be able to tell you what risks you face from the cysts, as well as how going on BC could help or make things worse.

As for your friend, most forms of BC actually reduce the length of your period, so unless she is on depo (the shot) or still in the adjustment period for her prescription, she should talk to her doctor about changing methods.
go to an OB...she/he is the one you should be asking this.
