What if you missed a birth control pill?

Question:
I have been good taking my pill, but i just realized I missed one of the white pills from about a week and a half ago. I did have had sex since then. What do I need to do now? What are my chances of pregnancy? Thanks in ahead.

Answers:
First what kind of pill are you on? If they are your active pills, you should have taken it as soon as you remember, even if it means doubling up one day.

FYI, the white pills are NOT always "sugar pills"... the brand of pill I am on, the white ones are active and the blue and green ones are the fourth week pills.

If you do not get your period the next time your fourth week comes around, take a pregnancy test.
dudes dont get pregnant
the white pills are your sugar pills, you dont even HAVE to take them, they are just there to keep you in the routine!! your not going to get pregnant!
One missed pill does not a pregnancy make.

The instructions say that if you miss one pill, take it when you remember. Or when you take your next one. If you miss two pills, use alternate birth control.

What that says to me is that you are fine.
White pills are sugar pills and and even if you do misss one dont worry just take your next one as regular. or take it later in the day when you do remeber -
It's a bit late to do anything about it now.
Normally you would have to use condoms for the next seven days of active pills.
The most risky time for missing a pill is in the week before and after your period. If you missed one in the middle week then I wouldn't worry about it.
If you don't get a period when you are next on the pill-free week, then think about taking a pregnancy test the week after, but other than that there isn't much you can do.
you're a guy
