HELP! with my period **cries**?
Question:
I'm 18 years old, have never gone to see a Gyn. and I'm scared to death that I have like POS or something weird that would lead me to have some kind of cancer or infertility in the future. What can I do? is/has something similar happening to you? what was it?
Answers:
Princess ---- You do need to go see your doctor! You have had problems like this in the past. YA cannot give you the doctor exam or answer all of the questions that you ask!
As I have said before, it is normal for many girls your age to experience this. Do not let fear run your life! Go see your family doctor! This is something you need to do. It is part of growing up. You don't have to see a gyn - you can see your family doctor. Come on girl ---- treat your body like a temple! Make sure that it is healthy!
i know it's hard to go see a gynecologist for the first time, but you should really see one and get diagnosed. find out the problem before it gets worse.
i've never had this problem before, but a friend of mine had major cramps all throughout high school that landed her in the hospital a few times. she finally found out in college that she had endometriosis.
anyways, the point is that the doctor may find out what it is and potentially solve the problem. waiting around isn't going to help. i hope everything works out for you and take care.
Your hormones are all over the place. You may need some hormones by mouth to normalize this.Diet plays a role also, if you diet and your body lacks the vitamins it needs it can work on starvation mode.
Other reasons can be stress, heavy and constant work or exercise and emotional problems (depression anxiety etc)
See a specialist by all means, any good GYN would be able to help.
Good luck
Periods can be erratic when you are young. I had really bad cramps when I was a teen - lying on my bed crying hurt. My problem was after my 4th child. I was having a period every 2 weeks. What a pain!
See your doctor and CALM DOWN! The unknown is worse than reality!
Love, I can see that you are anxious about this exam. You also don't want to have it done. Why? I read your profile and I'm wondering if this has something to do with your religion. You say that you are a Mormon. Having a health exam like this is not against anything in your religion. God wants us to take care of our bodies. He also knows that there are certain things that we must do to keep our bodies healthy. This exam is part of us women keeping ourselves healthy! Your Dr. won't judge you, but will offer help and answer your questions and address your fears.
Now, on Monday, make that call! I offer my support! Please email me if you have any questions that I might be able to help you with!
You are undergoing lot of hormonal changes, it may be because of various reasons, like stress, food habits etc
But I advice you to consult some good gyn immediately, dont stay at home!

GO TO THE GYNO! I had the pretty much the same problem when I was your age. I got my period when I was almost 12, but it never regulated. I would get it for a few months around the same time and have a steady cycle. Then it would go away for months and I wouldn't get it again for 3, 4 months. It would come back on a different cycle for a few months. This happened for years. It was until we were discussing this on a tangent conversation in a class (all girls hs) that I realized it was abnormal for it to still be irregular six years later. My mom wanted me to go to the gyno anyway since I'd just turned 18, and when I told the gyno this she put me on birth control to regulate my period. It helped soooooo much. It regulated my period so I got it pretty much the same time every month. However, on the pill sometimes I would get it for 2 weeks or it would still be heavy. On the patch I've only gotten it 5ish days a time, same day every cycle. Soooo easy to predict. Please see the doctor for help!
If you're that concerned about it, see your doctor. They often times give young women birth control pills to regulate your cycle. Remember we are not Catholic and we do believe in using birth control for whatever it's needed for.
And since you have never been to the GYN it's time you go. Find a woman doctor! It is much more comfortable with a woman than a man doctor.
