Your doctor does not have to mail them in fact i have never heard of that happening while you are at the doctors office tell him you would like your parents to not know you were there.
when the docots office calls your house they will tell your parents who it is...which will then let them know you were at the doctors office...and they will want to know why
ask your doctor if you can call them and get the results or give them a cell phone number..
or you can just tell your parents your going to the doctor. a girl should see a gyno when she begins her period, to make sure everything is going okay down there
ask your doctor to not send it
My Dr. has never mailed me my results, he calls when my results are in. If there are any problems, we talk about it then or I make another appt. Ask your Dr. to call you instead. Your Dr. won't disclose anything to your parents if you ask them not too. Good Luck!
I have never heard of results being mailed, they usually call and tell you to come in for the results or you get a letter letting you know to come back in a year, which means everything is great! but let your doctor know not to give your results to anybody except you.
I never got a pap before I was 18 and so I was out on my own, actually I was married. ;)
So, the advice I can offer is to get to the root of the problem first. I think the mail issue is a big deal. If you're over 18 you're an adult and have the right to privacy. If you're under 18 you're still a minor and your parents are still responsible for you, I don't care what some people will say. I believe parents have the right and responsibility to know what's going on with their kids till they're no longer liable for them. If you're under 18 and don't want them to know what's going on, get emancipated, move out and pay your own way. They probably want what's best for you and they care. Believe me, you want them on your side.
no you do not have to have it mailed to you you can go in and see what is the results or you can call and get them which is better for you to do
no, if there is a problem with the test results then they call you for another appt , they never mail the results. If everything is ok, you won't hear anything
as a patient you have the right to your privacy... let your Dr's office know that you do not have a secure method of receiving your private medical info. They can then let you sign a HIPPA waver that will allow them to disclose your info to you via phone.

Hope that helps.
