I think I'm on the verge of anorexia...please help...?

Question:
Okay, so I am NOT skinny WHATSOEVER. I hate it and sometimes I get to the point where I don't eat for a whole day. Then when I do eat something, I regret it so badly and begin thinking of how fat I'm going to get after I eat it. I am 5'1 and weigh 135! I'm FAT! I hate going into stores and finding everything skin tight and things that don't fit me, and I need to go to the size 5's and it makes me feel so fat. I hate the way I look. I haven't eaten anything today. What can I do? I am beginning to LIKE the feeling of hunger and I don't know why! I just fill up on water. What can I do? I try to eat but I just can't!

Answers:
if you don't eat regularly your body won't metabolize which then creates it to store fat. You have to eat to keep the body metabolizing , just eat easily digested foods. salad is not one of them.
YOU ARE ANOREXIC. You need to get help for it now.
I sure am no expert on eating disorders, but i know all about them. I have a friend, who I care about so deeply. She has an eating diorder, and it scares the &*#% out of everybody! I dont want to upset you, but this decsion effects more people than you would think. Nobody likes having a friend who doesnt like themselves. Besides, it is whats on the inside that matters. =]
ask your parents if u can use a part, maybe 1/4 or 1/2 of a jen fe weight loss patch. idk how old u r, but that could help majorly.
Eat girl! Be happy and be unhungry!
Well, you're making yourself store more fat by not eating. Eat very small meals, like healthy snacks, every couple of hours. I find that sometimes I fill up really quickly too, so I have to eat pretty often in small doses. If you can get the courage, talk to someone (it really does take courage, I'm not there yet)
drink alot of water
and dont starve urself
bc then when u do eat something
ur body automatically stores it as fat
so u should eat small portions and small snacks all day
to train ur body not to feel hungry
Just watch what you eat. Only eat healthy foods. Exercise, be outside and active. Anorexia is a MENTAL problem. I was anorexic and have gone a long way since then. It is unhealthy and it'll ruin your friendships, relationships, and family life. Avoid it at all costs. Someone doesn't just "become" anorexic, it's not a life choice. A real anorexic will see herself at 80 lbs and in the mirror see herself as being over 200. At 90 lbs I thought I looked like I was 210.
Have a buddy to work out with. Jog with some friends. Eat non-fried foods and plenty of veggies. Cut back on sugars and calories, but still take in enough to function correctly.
Well, I do not know what you look like... so maybe you should ask someone who you KNOW will tell you the truth even if it may be brutal. Then ask if you are "fat". If your honest friend tells you that you are not fat, then it might just be your head.
If the answer is yes, then I have ONE WORD... EXERCISE! It helps... and if you are losing weight you never have to be worried because it's safe and not sickening. Whatever you do try to keep balanced meals. If you are occupied by something set a timer maybe and MAKE yourself get up and eat. You don't have to cut down all the time but eating healthy is the way to go.
Sounds like your anorexic. Call a counselor, also change what you eat, not how much you eat and exercise.
OK 5'1" and 135. You can afford to miss a meal or two. No worry, eat when you are hungry ONLY, no snacking in between and exercise daily. you will be fine
Chill man, just chill.

Ok, so you feel fat? You should be blessed to actually have food on your table and not actually be starving like many children around the world. If you want to lose weight, exercise using yoga or sports, and eat smaller portions of meat and whatnot, you cannot just stop eating in general because that can really harm your body. Exercise, exercise, exercise...I cannot stress this enough! You wanna be thinner? Than for heaven's sake exercise and do NOT starve yourself and acquire an eating disorder. It is not worth it to become skin and bones. The most natural way is through exercise, your body deserves better than starvation.

Remember, all people around the world come in different shapes and sizes. Love your body and yourself for all the positives you have, forget the negatives.
well considering you're in size 5 I think you're fine. I'm 105 lbs but I'm also in size 5. I probably have bigger hips though. Eat healthy, that'll help you maintain a good weight. If you're feeling like you might have an eating disorder, go to your doctor and get some advice on what to do. Also, you may want to consider a counseling or support group.
If you are aware of the fact that you may have an eating disorder, talk with your doctor. No amount of advice on here will help you in overcoming it. Going without eating for an entire day is not healthy and will not help you lose the weight you desire. Instead it is a sure road to becoming more unhealthy.
We can't help you. Im sorry. Someone who has been through the condition can give guidance. We can only hope, that you realize, that you are killing your body with your actions. We can only hope, that you realize YOU WILL DIE, if you continue this. OH YES, YOU WILL DIE FROM THIS. YOU WILL DIE!!!! I can't express it enough, YOU WILL DIE FROM THIS, if you continue this. Get some help and get it fast. You need an evalution from psychologists and I suggest seeking an Eating disorder treatment center as well. You are at the stage of addiction. This disease has finally taken over. Your next step, is to get HELP NOW! Forget, others stories of they have been there on q and a, get HELP NOW. Every story is different and the underlying issues that created it, very different. You want to stop this? Don't ask on q and a, start finding a physician that can guide you through the process of stopping this self sabatoging behavior.
At 5' 1" and 135 - you are soo not fat! But you did not mention your age.

Presuming you are young, do not worry so about your weight. Things will change as you grow older.

Years ago I weighed 270 pounds at 6' 3". Way the heck overweight!! My ex was a fantastic cook and I was way too hungry!

Today I am at 195 pounds at 6' 2" (Okay, I shrunk). Still overweight but in better health.

The secret is to eat better - more vegetables and less (or no) frozen, canned and fast food.

Whatever you choose, do not give up on yourself and know that weight is not anyone's biggest concern.

Stay well my friend,

you will add more fat to your figure if you don't eat. but i'm not telling you to eat a lot eat small meals and excersize daily try to do sit-ups and running every day for 20 min and work your way up also i heard if you drink 2 tea spoons of lemon juice per day i'm trying it out. e me to tell me how u r doing.
: )
Sweety, you seriously need to talk to your parents about seeing a therapist before it's too late. I have been struggling with anorexia and bulimia for five years. I can tell you it has been no picnic. I have been hospitalized on several occasions. I am in recovery now, but it is still taxing me every day. My body will never be the same again. I hope you will take my advice; not for me, but for you. You deserve to be okay.
Despite what you hear on TV or read in the magazines, people who are anorexic aren't that way because they want to look like skinny models. Usually it's because they have low self esteem and over controling parents. They feel as if they have no control over anything in their life except what they eat.

They also have a distorted body image and see themselves as fat, even though they are skin and bones.

If you are a teen age girl or young woman, it is normal to want to have an attractive figure.

You are right in that what you are doing by going without eating is not healthy and that you are in a negative cycle. I can immagine you being frustrated about being overweight and eating reminds you of that.

Of course what you need to do is to go on a sensible diet and get some support for that by going to a group such as Weight Watchers. Many people get in the cycle of not liking that they are overweight and then doing something that is ineffective to reduce it. Then they get frustrated that what they did, didn't work, and go back to eating the way they did before.

The result of that is their self esteem gets worse and worse, they feel hopeless about their weight, and get fatter and fatter.

You need to get on an effective, sensible, diet and exersize program and then stick to it until you get to a sensible but attractive weight.

Just to share, part of the treatment for anorexia is to have the person take assertiveness training. Assertivess is the middle ground between passivity and aggresiveness and is the most effective way to get our needs met in life and at the same time not alienate people who might like to be our friends.

There is often assertiveness education available at community colleges and community ed. A good beginning book on assertiveness is, "When I say No, I Feel Guilty".

I don't know if you need a counselor or not to do this but it is a common reason why a person would see one. I suspect it would be helpful for you to see a counselor at least to help you get started on this. My best wishes for you and your future.
When most people hear of someone with an eating disorder they almost automatically assume the person has a problem with food. Eating disorders are not a sign that a person has a problem with food; rather eating disorders are actually only the symptoms of underlying problems in that person's life. With proper treatment, people can fully recover.
Your doctor will provide you with definitions, signs and symptoms and physical/medical complications for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and compulsive eating. Will also provide you with information in regards to the dangers associated with certain products used in an attempt to lose weight and who's at risk.
