Skipping just one pill can start the period all over again. The samething happened to me and it lasted a week( even though i made up for the pill). My doctor said it was all because of the missed pill and not to worry if I don't have a period during the hormone free week. Make sure you use a condom for seven days after the missed pill just in case.

Its because she forgot to take that pill that one day. Skipping one day of it can throw off your period a little.. its not dangerous and doesn't really mean anything other than it might not regulate until she starts her next pack. the bleeding that is occurring right now is not actually a period its just heavy spotting. tell her to make sure she makes up that extra pill, if she didnt take it along with the correct pill the following day, she needs to take it asap to make it up.
