Irregular Period?

Question:
I got my period in grade 7 when I was 13. It just stopped after that first time. and I got it 4 months after and then every 2 or 3 months until I was 14 1/2. It was every 40 days until a little before I was 16 and it comes every 6 weeks. Is this normal?
I also get pretty bad cramps but not as bad as before.

Answers:
Nahh, sometimes it just takes longer for your body to adjust to the changes it's going through. It was unsure of what to do with the hormones it was producing at first, but now it's getting the hang of it.

A lot of the things we do effect our periods...stress, food, water, vitamins..try to make sure you're doing everything possible for your health, and the rest should fall into place.
Sounds like your normal cycle length is 6 weeks- every woman can be different a 28 day cycle is just an average not a goal to shoot for.
As your body becomes mature enough to reproduce, your periods should become more regular. Some women need to take hormones to regulate their period. I think your periods are normal for your age, but if you have concerns, you should talk to your doctor.
