Nervous about pad shopping?

Question:
I am visiting my grandparents this summer and I just ran out of the pads that I brought with me. The next time I get my period, I will have to pick out pads in the store (my mom usually gets them for me, but I think my gramma will make me get them). I don't know why, but it makes me feel really weird and self-conscious to be doing that. I'm 15.7 years old. Any tips?

Answers:
Yes, I think all of us women have gone through a little anxiety about that at least once in our lives! I remember that feeling. It is normal to feel self conscious about it, because you feel like if someone sees you, they will KNOW you are on your period, and gosh, how humiliating. When I was young, I used to feel very self conscious about going through the checkout with them too. But the thing is, women have periods, men KNOW that women have periods, women know that other women have periods, so if you think about it, there is nothing that should be embarrassing about it. Most people are understanding of this, and if they're not, then they are just a little immature, so don't worry about what anyone else thinks. Don't feel ashamed. It's a normal part of being a woman. If it makes you feel any better, try to go through a checkout that has a woman cashier. But don't worry. We have all been there before. :) The more you get used to buying them on your own, the less anxiety you will feel about it, and you'll start to see that really nobody pays attention to things like that.
just go out and buy them yourself, sign of growing up.
buy something else with it.
and get in a line where there's a girl cashier if you can.
It's a necessary evil hon. If you get served by a guy, have the thought in your head that you are going through it and not them. If it's a woman then she has to buy them just the same as you do. It will get less uncomfortable as you get older. Just best to get it over with I'm afraid.
ur gramma went through this too. Just remember that every girl has to go out and buy pads sometime or another and ur gramma knows that. go with ur gramma to the market and say, "i need some monthly supplies i'll be rite back," and go and get the brand u need. if ur not sure ask ur gramma wat she'd recommend, or call ur parents on ur cell.
just make sure you get a girl when you check out all women have to use them
Don't worry about it, the people at the till are used to seeing girls by pads, tampons etc. There are more embarrassing items out there to buy. Just walk around the pads section but look at other items, then "accidentally" come across the pads and take your pick and buy them. Get used to it because your mum wont buy you pads for the rest of your life
honestly it not that hard . not to get all in ur business but u probably know how your flow works. just make sure u get the type 4 u. maxi if its meduim to heavy and ultra thin if ur flow is very light. then u can choose if u want wings or no wings they just help to keep it in place better. u shouldn't worry about price ethier the name brands are name brands for a reason, but the target brand is good too if ur looking for a generic brand. hope this helps good luck.
Maybe you can bring a friend that's your age along with you. It's normal, and the cashier's (even the guy ones) aren't gunna look at you funny,or laugh or what ever. If they do that they'd probably get fired. Hmm I just thought of this but it might be a little weird: Find another shopper whose also buying pads, and go on the same lane as her. It always feels better when you know youre not the only one. Hope this helps!
just go for it this is a natural thing that every woman gets who cares if the person thats in the register is a guy just give him that cute smile or just go to a register where a girl is at register
