I'm having an exame tomorrow for Planned Parenthood tomorrow and I have my period. Is this ok?

Question:
I have an appointment tomorrow with Planned Parenthood (birth control) tomorrow. But, I am currently menstrating. I need to know if I have to reschedule or not. I'm not exactly sure what they do there so could you please help me out? Thanks so much everyone!

Answers:
No you don't have to reschedule. Let them know ahead of time but it really doesn't matter it is usually more of an issue with the patient due to embarrassment than it is for the nurse. A lot of women begin bleeding during the pap smear especially if it is almost time for their period to start or if it just stopped.
If you haven't had a pap recentaly there going to want to do one, so it would be best to re-schedule, if your up to date and your just going for bc then it should be okay, they'll do a breast exam and thats it.
u need to reschedule. they will want to do a pelvic exam before they prescribe the pills. call in and reschedule
If you are being examined you need to reschedule.
if your doing a pap. you should reschedule.
Well, the pelvic exam COULD be done, however, the pap smear wouldn't be able to be done until your period is over, you'd have to reschedule that portion of the exam.
generally they do not do exams while your menstruating but if your going in for birth control depending on the type you should not have any problems. keep the apt. and go from there, if you have to reschedule then that is okay too.
At least your not pregnant!
Reschedule you need to be clear for a pelvic exam
