What causes a yeast infection?

Question:

Answers:
There are so many factors that can cause yeast infection as mentioned above.

You can eliminate the yeast infection by using herbal products of 'Manjakani' (Oak Gall). It helps to eliminate excessive vaginal discharge, itching and unpleasant odors
Yeast infections grow in a damp environment. Such as being in a wet bathing suit all day. If on antibiotics can cause it. One should wear panties with a cotton crotch. I would educate yourself on WebMd, or talk to your doctor. You should have one anyway for your yearly pap tests.
There are quite a few reasons for this:
1. You have been on antibiotics for an infection that have also killed off the normal bacteria in the body (such as lactobacillus) which keep the pH of your body slightly acidic and keep the free-loaders we have on us in check.
2. Your immune system is compromised so your natural defenses can't keep the free-loaders in control and they over grow.
3. You have an illness like diabetes where the sugar in your urine encourages yeast ( a fungus) to take root and multiply
4. Other issues (such as heavy weight, diapers etc) allow the skin to remain moist and warm & dark--three things fungi LOVE

And, yes, someone any age can get yeast (in the mouth it is thrush & in babies it is diaper rash).
Factors that may disturb the vagina's balance include:

*Antibiotic treatments

*Oral contraceptives

*Hot weather or non-ventilating clothing, which increase moisture and warmth, fostering fungal growth

*Repeated intercourse over a short period of time

*Stress

*Suppressed immune system (including HIV)

*High carbohydrate intake, especially refined sugars and
alcohol

*Pregnancy

*Diabetes

*Other causes can be irritants such as soaps, powders, new detergents and other products
