Weird solutions for urinary tract infection - true?

Question:
Today I was just looking up any ways to get rid of a UTI when I stumbled across a few things I'd never heard before.
1] Eating yogurt - I thought this was only a preventive measure for yeast infections.
2] Drinking beer because it would cause you to be more. (This sounds kind of dumb)

I just wanted to see if there was any truth to these home remedies. Thanks!

Answers:
yogurt may help if there are healthy bacteria present. look for a PLAIN yogurt that says "contains live cultures" but not "made with live cultures" as if the cultures are not alive now (because bacteria is killed from pasteurization) then these healthy bacteria wouldn't be present. good bacteria help (if they're actually present, but they aren't in most yogurt products). the milk sugars present may cause a problem though.

a UTI is a bacterial infection. i don't think drinking beer would help your body overcome this since alcohol weakens your immune system. you need to strengthen it to overcome infections, and a good way is to reduce stress, get rest, and eat lots of fruits and veggies and drink lots of water.
Sounds a little crazy! Drink cranberry juice..the real stuff not the full of sugar juice..The fact of the matter is you need to be on an antibiotic
All these remedies do not really cure UTI that is the problem.
Cranberry Juice, peeing before and after sex, yogurt etc.etc
are good things but do not prevent neither cure UTI. If there is an infection, so far only antibiotics can cure it.
