Mirena IUD I have and love it. No more painful heavy periods or PMS.
Sounds like you're a little late asking this question. Get a tubal. It's nearly fool-proof.
Abstinence is guaranteed to work 100%
If you are sure that your family is complete no matter what( if you divorced./partner died and new partner had not had any children)
Then sterilisation would be perfect for you

Non hormonal-will not affect periods
I would say if you don't want him to get sniped and you don't want to have surgery, I would use birth control pills. If you miss a pill just back it up with a condom for a week.

If you are done having children, look into the Essure procedure, it's less invasive than a tubal ligation, there is no incision involved. It's all done via hysteroscopy, and the recovery period is much quicker.
Essure involves tiny coil springs being placed into the fallopian tubes, causing scar tissue to form, blocking the tubes, preventing pregnancy.
For the first three months of placement of the coils you must use a back-up method of bc, and then an HSG (hysterosalpingogram) is done to ensure that the tubes are indeed blocked. The HSG is the "dye test" in which dye is injected via catheter through the cervix while an X-ray is taken to check the fallopian tubes.
The recovery period, as I said, is quicker and less painful than the tubal ligation. No cutting is involved.
