as long as you go to the dr. and have medication to treat the problem you shouldn't have any problem leading a normal life and maintaining any normal activity during or after.
It won't hurt you long term but might be uncomfortable and make the infection last longer. Take your antibiotics and rest for 3-4 days. I have three daughters so I think I can give good advice on this!
