Answers:
Pastoral as it relates to ministerial, church or charity work usually refers to the exercise of visiting the sick and needy, helping the poor, managing the affairs of the organization, counseling etc. Doing the work of circulating among those who are in need and offering aid and comfort on behalf of the church or organization.
It is the word from whence we get our word pastor.
It could just mean she is religious support. For example some hospitals use pastoral support and someone who comes and ina prays witht eh family at a time of need but they are not necessarily priests, fathers, or nuns.
Glenn t is right but he forgot to mention that women can become pastors. It is in the catholic religion that you have nuns, and only men can be priests.
