Um... My first period was kind of heavy. It depends on the person. So U might have had a light period when ur mom could have had a HEAVY one. So Just use pads and i hope every thing is ok.

it was light, 4 days long.
I barely bled my first period, just brown spotting. It was the ones in the following months that were pretty heavy and painful cramps!
although its different for every girl, your first period isn't usually that heavy, because youre just starting out. you'll probably have one day thats heavier than the others, but otherwise it won't be anything extremely heavy.

Mine started 20 years ago so I don't remember anymore. I just remember being excited that I was finally "a woman." Now...not so much!
