What just happened to me?! (need answers please, question inside)?

Question:
ok, so i just went to the bathroom (i went pee) and when i went to wipe this weird liquid stuff was coming out of my vagina. it had kinda like a mucus texture, it was really cold, and kinda thickish. i know it wasn't pee. but i don't know what it was, i don't have my period and I'm just wondering. anything you can think of? is it normal for a teenage girl to have that? might it be something involving puberty? im not sure, just shooting at something. but if you know what it is or have an idea of what it might be then tell me please, thanks.

Answers:
its called discharge, its a sign of puberty, and you can tell your mother if you like, its a sign that your growing up!
its just discharge, and its completely normal
It's cervical mucus, generally girls first start producing that about a year or so before they get their first period. It starts when you start having higher levels of estrogen. Eventually, you will make enough estrogen to cause an ovary to release an egg(ovulation). When you start having a regular cycle, you'll notice a lot of that stuff during ovulation, which is about halfway between periods. It could be that this is your first ovulation, in which case you could expect your first period in about 2 weeks, but I wouldn't bet on it. Better get some pads, pantyliners and tampons ready just in case though.

Yes you should tell your mother about it. She gets it to so she'll know what you're talking about. Tell her you think it's cervical mucus caused by elevated estrogen levels, and she'll think you're really smart. And tell her you think your periods on it's way so you want to get ready.
You may be ovulating. When a girl is ovulating, things tend to get really, uh, juicy down there.
it sounds like your ovulating. that's the part of your menstrual cycle when your most fertile. your body tends to product the clear thick mucus your describing. you can talk to your mom if your comfortable, she can fill you in a little more than i can type.
blow ur vagina more often....if ur not horny ur probably having a vaginal discharge
A woman's body produces a variety of that kind of thing, the form of it depending largely on your place within your cycle. The kind you describe is normal.
It is discharge, and VERY normal. I'm 13, and I started to get ALOT right before I started my period. It's completly normal, and a sign you should be starting your period soon. It happens regularly, and more right before your period.
It may be discharge. And that is a normal part of being a woman.
Don't worry. Its completly normal. Its just vaginal discharge and nothing to worry about.
It does involve puberty, hormones and ovulation and you'll probably get your period within the year.
