GIRLS ONLY! I haven't had my period in awhile...is it stress?

Question:
I'm 12 years old, turning 13 on August 11th. I first got my period around November 2005. I used to get once a month, sometimes every 2 or 3 months. Now, i haven't had my period since around Februrary 20-28. Around that time. I read in a book that it would get normal around a year, and its been more than a year...
Is it normal? Sometimes I think it's because of stress...because lately I've been so stressed out, and sometimes depressed.

Answers:
It could be because of stress, but the best place to discuss this would be with your doctor. Don't be frightened about talking to your doctor about it. You might also want to mention that you have been feeling depressed.
it's probably cause your young and hormones are just coming in spurts. It'll take a few years till they flow like a river. it could be stress though
Reallii, it usualli takes 2 years to start to regulate. Also, it happened to me and i had like half a year after my fisrt before it came back. Its completely normal. and i dont think it has much to do wit stress, but calm down i guess..
It's normal for a girl's period to be abnormal within the first few years of getting their period for the first time. It could be stress or it could just be normally abnormal. It'll eventually straighten out to a "normal" cycle.
It's possible that it is because of stress. But I think that a huge part of it is because of your age. Your hormones are still regulating. It's okay for your period to not be regular while your still young.
Yes honey, stress has a lot to do with being irregular. I know that its hard to talk to adults about personal things like this, but truly because its been that long you should see a doctor. They can test hormone levels like FSH,LH,Testerone,Estradiol, and TSH to make sure that it isn't an underlying medical problem. Try to relax but you should speak to someone about it.
That happened to me too. I wouldn't freak out just yet. It's perfectly normal for your period to be affected by stress and depression. Almost any thing can affect your cycle. Try to google it, and see what you find! Thats what I did. It really helps.
It could be stress but since you're still young, you may not have a reliable schedule for when you get it.
dont excerise a lot
and its prob is cuz of stress too
and i've been geting my period regulry since i first got it idk if thats weird or not but yeah
Just about anything could screw it up... Your age is probably a large factor. Even if you've had it for a while, you're still really young so that could be why it's screwy. Especially when you say you've sometimes had it only every two or three months, so I'm guessing yours hasn't been all that regular so far. And "regular" can take a couple or a few years even if you are young.

Or it may well be stress. Or weight loss. Or whatever else could possibly cause it to get screwy.

Even most grown women have a screwy incidence once in a while. Mine has generally always been pretty regular, though back in October I got it TWICE...ugh.
It's probably nothinig to worry about, but you should notify your parents and doctor. Better safe then sorry. =)
I'm 13, and lots of my friends ARENT regular AT ALL! Though, I am RIGHT ON TIME. So, it's just the way you are. It may take years before it's regular.
I'm10 your body is building back up on eggs do you have pain i am asking cause i have never had a period before
