Was it hard...?!?

Question:
was it hard to tell your parent or guardian about your first period.?! it was kinda hard for me to tell my mom but i finally got through and i kinda think getting my period has gotten us closer

Answers:
It wasn't hard for me. But I read lots of questions here from girls that are scared to tell their moms. it's normal.

And I think you are right, it does make you feel a little closer to share something personal like that.

I just had a long conversation with my step-daugher about sex (she's 25 and married) but seems her mom never told her much about sex.
NO, my Mom was happy for me.
Well, not really. I just told my mom, because we're really close to begin with.. So yeah. And plus, my sister helped me;;
No. My mom gave me the talk about my period before I had it, so when I did get it I just told her that I needed some pads. My mom is pretty cool, so I've been able to talk to her about anything.
it was def hard for me but then after i told her she was totally supportive and gave me a hug
i told my mom flat out, i was laughing about it, so i didn't even think about it when i told her.
yes. i told my mom over the phone while she was at work. this was easier on me but i think my mom cried...
For me, no. But I do know lots of girls who have EXTREME difficulties telling there mom.
Don't hesitate in telling.it's a landmark into your womanhood and your mom will remember when it happened to her and she will also know that you are not a little girl anymore, but a young woman. it's a landmark like your 16th birthday, your first prom, graduation, etc. It's a natural human occurrance that is nothing to be ashamed of. Your mom should give you a big hug!
nope, i told my mom, she was happy and said "ur turning into a women". lol. corny, i know. i started in 5th grade which many girls haven't started by then.
