Answers:
ask your mom seriously and if you can't ask her about it ask a an aunt or an older cousin how they work...you could always <just> use a pad...
I have about the same problem. I cant seem to figure out how to get it in properly!!
dont give up hun youll get the hang of it..just give it time. dont force yourself if you dont want to use them just yet.
When I first got my period, I had the same problem.
When people tell you "its easy" & "just look at the instructions in a tampon box". That doesn't exactly solve your problem.
It sometimes takes more then 6 or 7. It took me a whole box haha. But I eventually did it, and you will to! Just keep trying. Use a mirror if you have to, to see where the tampon goes.
You'll be so much more comfortable using tampons. Pads feel like bulky diapers. I was so happy when I learned how to use tampons. There easier to use and easier to store in your purse.
Good luck!
Find friends who have experience with them and ask them for advice. practice at home and have them outside the door...if that's uncomfortable, just read the directions and keep trying.
Had the same problem when I was younger. Try standing in front of the toilet or by the tub and put one foot on the edge of the tub with your knee bent and try inserting it that way. It took me a long time, but that was the easiest way for me. Good luck!!
i had the same problem when i was younger.
try to get the smallest size available.
i was successful for the first time after i put a tiny bit of vaseline on the tip of the tampon. thats what i did for a while until i got used to the tampons and then it just worked without the vaseline.
as another lady said before me: if you are uncomfortable with it, do not use tampons or just wait until you are ready
Try looking for the slender, teen or light flow ones. They will be easier to insert since you are younger. You can also look for the gentle glide style, I believe they are made by playtex. The applicator is silky smooth so it makes it easier to use. Use a mirror and squat over top of it so you can see what you are doing and most importantly relax. I had the same problem when I was younger. Just make sure to use a low absorbency because of the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome. And do not leave them in for more than about 6-8 hours. Good luck hun! :)
i know how you feel. i tried 4 times before i finally got it in. just keep trying! just make sure you're putting them in the right hole.
I had problems also when I first start using tampons. Don't give up on using them, it takes a few to get it in properly. Follow all of the directions in the packet. Don't get scarred and stop, that's probably what your doing, thinking that it probably will get to far in or stuck. As long as the part that your using to stick in is up to the vagina part, it is in correctly. Just keep trying, and make sure the string is hanging out.
hey, well I'm a swimmer too. been swimming for 8 years already. I got my period last december, but tampons do hurt sometime. just use when u really need to, otherwise just use a pad. for swimming, there are people who still uses pad. well, seriously, just try. It feels awkward when u wear it during swim practice and stuff, but when it hurts, use pad. ok don't hurt urself
Right, here are some detailed instructions:
For Applicator Tampons:
1. Lie on the floor on your back.
2. Put your thumb and third finger on the ridged bit of the applicator.
3. Seperate your vaginal lips.
4. Take deep breaths and imagine your favourite song - or just anything to relax you.
5. Push the tampon into the hole (sounds messy lol) until your fingers touch skin.
6. Keeping firm hold of the applicator with your thumb and third finger, put your second finger on the top of the applicator and push it in.
7. When you cannot push anymore, the tampon should be fully in, so pull the full applicator out, making sure that the string is still hanging from the vagina.
For Non-Applicator Tampons:
1. Lie on the floor on your back.
2. Unravel the string
3. Seperate your vaginal lips.
4. Take deep breaths and imagine your favourite song - or just anything to relax you.
5. Push the tampon into the hole as far as it will possibly go.
TADA!! If the tampon is in correctly, you should not be able to feel it. It should not be pushed out. Hope this helps, and happy tampon using! xo
