Have any of you had surgery to amputate your cervix? Tell me how it went.?

Question:
I have an elongated cervix, and doc says it has to be amputate it. Apparently a total hysterectomy isn't advised.

Answers:
I haven't had it done but I've read about it. As long as there is no relaxation or prolapse (cervix does not come out through vaginal opening) you should be ok with the Manchester-Fothergill procedure which consisted of cervical amputation and plication of the cardinal ligaments and utero-sacrals. I don't know how old you are but this will allow you to keep your uterus so you can have children.
